In this 9th episode, we have the pleasure of chatting with Andrew Romans, managing partner at 7BC Capital.

Andrew Romans, an active VC investor, best-selling author, and former professor of VC at Chapman University, shares his best advice to founders: “Spend 30% of your time doing favors for other people asking for nothing in return. The remaining 70% of your time will be a minimum 2x more effective giving you a 1.4x boost on your efforts.” 

By the age of 28 years old, Andrew raised $48M+ for startups he founded and went on to take up various roles within VC including advising corporations and governments. He has lectured on VC at Stanford, Harvard, UC Berkeley, Santa Clara University, UC San Diego, Georgetown University, London Business School, Imperial College London, University of Bologna, Moscow State University, Tsinghua University in both Beijing & Shanghai. In addition to lecturing, Andrew is an author of two top-selling books on VC along with his latest book on blockchain, fintech and digitization of data-driven workflows. His most popular book written in 2013 titled, The Entrepreneurial Bible To Venture Capital: Inside Secrets from the Leaders in the Startup Game, shares key insights on how to raise various types of funding for startups as well as guidance for entrepreneurs in each stage of fundraising. 

Currently, as a General Partner at 7BC Venture Capital and host of podcast “Fireside with a VC,” Andrew shares his insight on how neonVest allows founders and VCs to connect in a more organic way.
